Hermetic Order Of The Golden Dawn

here is the symbol of this cult.

Did you ever hear about an organization revolving around magic and paranormal activities? Well, an organization named the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn is an organization dated back to the 1886. This organization started with a little scroll which had an unknown writing on it.  It was found by Adolphus Frederick Alexander Woodford, although he did not really care about the scroll, therefore he passed the script to his friend William Wynn Westcott so that he could decipher it. Westcott managed to decode it in 1887. The script had many rituals written on it, and after studying these rituals for many hours, Westcott decided to use these them as he formed his small cult. I believe that this is the base of how many cults and secret societies are created. Most people just stumble onto scrolls, old tablets or even run in to signs and decide to make their own cult out of it. This base can be seen in the Rosicrucian’s, which is another cult that I will be speaking about later on in my blog but the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn practice magic and believe in the supernatural. This organization relies on magic and the supernatural because Westcott had some help deciphering the scroll by a woman named Anna Sprengel. The story is that this woman could contact supernatural entities known as secret chiefs. I personally do not believe in the supernatural, spirits, ghosts, or entities because I have not seen them with my own eyes. Perhaps if I could have met Anna, she could have helped me believe because the supernatural does interest me because of how scary and abnormal that it sounds. Anyways, to get back to my story, the Secret Chiefs were supernatural entities to everyone except for the true followers of the Hermetic Order because to them, it was a symbol that they were on the right path.  I consider this secret society to be very demanding in its rituals that they perform. I have also read that they believe in sacrifices and the story reads that Anna died but her death was unknown. I believe that she was sacrificed during one of their rituals to give thanks to the paranormal powers that they believe in. It is just my opinion but it makes sense. Anna was the one who helped deciphered the scroll, but Westcott did not want to be the one who was sacrificed therefore he used her instead of himself.  Today, there are more than 2000 members that make up this organization worldwide, mainly because the members don’t admit it to anyone that they are a part of this organization, because they might sound crazy believing in this supernatural and magic non sense.

Here is the scroll that Westcott and Anna ciphered.File:Folio 13.png

sorry, there is no bigger resolution but I hope this gives you an idea of how it looked like.
